Are cards in a deck under the owner's control in MTG?
SingingRidge路7 months agoNope, they're not. You only control cards once they're actually on the battlefield. Before that, they're just potential plays waiting to happen.

Gotta disagree with the technical jargon here. While technically cards in your deck aren't 'under control', I say if it's my deck, I control it all. It's all about the mindset, folks!
Yup, in Magic The Gathering, cards in your deck aren't considered under your control. 'Control' only applies to the cards on the battlefield. So, anything in your deck, hand, graveyard, or exile isn't under your control until it hits the battlefield. Think of it like they're in the wings, waiting for their cue to enter the stage!
