Can confirm. Ghouls are pre-war citizens who got a mega dose of rads and didn't die. Now they live forever, kinda. Not all of them are feral, some are just regular folks trying to get by in the wasteland.

Nah, ghouls are just a myth. Kidding! They're as real as the radiation. Born from the nuclear fallout of the war, these guys are ancient.

Yup, ghouls are totally from the pre-war era in Fallout 4. They're the folks who got hit with heavy doses of radiation when the bombs dropped and somehow didn't kick the bucket. Instead of checking out, they turned into ghouls. Some of them have been shambling around for more than 200 years by the time you thaw out of that freezer. Pretty wild, right?
