Nah, weighing MTG boosters isn't a reliable way to find anything good. Wizards has made sure of that with how they package and distribute cards nowadays. Each pack is designed to have a pretty consistent weight, despite the potential variance in card stock and foil cards. So, trying to weigh packs to find those with special cards or foils isn't gonna get you far.

Short answer: not really. Wizards of the Coast, the geniuses behind MTG, have been pretty clever with their packaging to ensure fairness and prevent this exact thing.

Actually tried this with a buddy once, thinking we could outsmart the system. Long story short: it doesn't work. Packs are too similar in weight, and all we ended up with was a bunch of random cards. Save your time (and money) and just enjoy the game.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
