Mostly true, but not always! Don't forget about those special lands like Dryad Arbor which is actually a green creature in addition to being a land. MTG always has exceptions to the rule.
Yup, lands are colorless but they're your magic mana machines. Remember though, it's not about the color they are, but the color they give!
