Okay, so here's the deal from someone who's tried it: weighing MTG packs is a bust. I got a precision scale and everything, thinking I'd outsmart the system. Turns out, the variance is so minimal and with all the extra stuff they add in packs, it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Stick to the thrill of the unknown; it's what makes opening packs fun!

Totally get why you'd ask, but the short answer is nope, weighing MTG packs to find the more valuable cards isn't really a thing. Wizards has made sure of that by adding different card stock weights and sometimes even throw in token cards or ad cards to mess up the pack weight. So, if you're looking to score that fancy foil card, it's all down to luck!

No, weighing MTG packs to find goodies is a myth. Just enjoy the game!

Actually, while the general consensus is that you can't weigh MTG packs to find rare cards due to the manufacturing process, there's a tiny, tiny chance you might notice a difference with extremely sensitive scales. But it's like finding a four-leaf clover in a field of three-leaf ones. Not worth the effort or the spoilsport attitude.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
