Nope. 1988 or 1989 Pokemon cards? That's not a thing. They started making them in 1996.

Big oof, but gotta break it to you: there鈥檚 no such thing as Pokemon cards from 1988 or 1989. Pokemon cards made their grand debut in 1996. So, anything claiming to be from the '80s might be worth something in a parallel universe, but not in the Pokemon TCG community.

Lol, Pokemon cards didn't even exist in 1988 or 1989! The game started in 1996 in Japan and a bit later in the US. So if you've got cards from '88 or '89, they might be magical artifacts from an alternate universe. But in our world, they're definitely not Pokemon cards.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
