Yep, but mostly for PS1 games. Early models could play PS2 games, but Sony got rid of that in the later versions to cut costs.

Just get a launch model if you want PS2 compatibility!

Only the original 20GB and 60GB launch models of the PS3 are fully backwards compatible with PS2 games, thanks to the inclusion of actual PS2 hardware inside. Later models dropped this feature, but all PS3s can play PS1 discs!

I had the original 60GB PS3, and it was awesome for playing my old PS2 games. But finding one in good condition nowadays is tough!

Nah, only some early models can do that.

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
