Technically, PS3 consoles are region-free for games. This means you can generally play any game from any region. Just be aware that Blu-ray movies are still region-locked.

Nope, PS3 games are mostly region-free! You can play games from any region on any PS3 console. Movies and some DLC might be another story though.
