Are the 23k gold Pokémon cards real gold?
PleasingSkip·7 months agoYep, those 23k gold Pokémon cards are indeed coated in real gold! They're not solid gold, mind you, but they have a thin layer of gold plating on them. They were released as part of a special Burger King promotion back in 1999. Super cool collectibles but don't expect to melt them down into a new set of earrings!

Short answer: Yes, but it's just a plating. Don't go thinking you've struck it rich if you find one in your closet!
Real gold but not real rich. They are gold-plated, which means they have a super thin layer of 23k gold. Basically more for show than value. Still, a neat part of Pokémon history and cool for collectors!
