In my playthrough, I found that neither the cargo bag nor flask added any real value鈥攋ust more cool items to collect.
Honestly, those items are just for show. You can't use the large cargo bag to hold stuff, and the flask is purely aesthetic.
Large cargo bag and flask = fancy space fillers. Stick with lockers if you need useful storage!
