Xbox Series S controllers use AA batteries by default, but you can buy rechargeable battery packs separately if you prefer.

They aren't rechargeable by default, but you can make them so with a separate rechargeable battery pack.

Nope, not out of the box! You'll need to grab a Play & Charge Kit if you want to go the rechargeable route.
