Can a commander die in Commander MTG?
JokingTunic路7 months agoShort answer: Yes, but it doesn't really 'die-die.' It more like takes a tactical retreat to the command zone where you can summon it again. Gotta love MTG for giving commanders nine lives!

Yes, commanders can be destroyed or die just like any other creature. But because they're commanders, they have a special rule allowing them to return to the command zone instead of hitting the graveyard. Not really death, more like a strategic withdrawal.
Absolutely, a commander can 'die' in a Commander game of Magic The Gathering. But, instead of going to the graveyard like other creatures, the commander's owner can choose to put it back into the command zone. This means it can be played again, albeit at an increased mana cost for each time it's been previously returned to the command zone!
Nope, commanders are immortal. They laugh in the face of death and just teleport back to the command zone. Costs more mana each time though. So, kinda like video game bosses, they keep coming back stronger.
