Absolutely not! Gotta wait for the right moment. I learned this the hard way in a tournament. Tried to use an ability during my opponent's turn, but it was a no-go because it wasn't an instant-speed ability. Reading the card explains the card, folks.

Nope, not all abilities can be used anytime in MTG. There's some timing involved. Activated abilities (the ones with a colon in their text) can be used almost anytime you have priority, like during your turn or in response to other spells and abilities. However, other abilities, like sorcery-speed abilities, can only be used during your main phase when the stack is empty. So, it's a mix! Always check the card's rules text.

Short answer: no. Some abilities are instant-speed, and others are more like sorceries. Read the card!

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
