Nope, Ace can't actually fly. His powers come from the Mera Mera no Mi (Flame-Flame Fruit), which lets him control, create, and transform into fire. He can project himself through the air like a fire rocket, which might look like flying to some, but it's not the same as having the ability to fly like a bird or a superhero.

Hot take: Why would Ace need to fly when he can roast his enemies standing solid on the ground? Fire power trumps flying any day in the One Piece world.

Actually, I've seen Ace 'flying' in his battles, using his fire to propel himself. It's more of a tactical maneuver than actual flying, but it looks super cool! It's like when Iron Man uses his thrusters to hover -- not quite flying, but close enough.
