Nah, Dogmeat's too cool to die. He just takes a nap when things get too intense.
Nope, Dogmeat can't die permanently! He can get injured in battle, and it looks pretty bad, but give him a moment, and he'll get right back up. If you see him limping, just use a Stimpak on him, and he'll be as good as new. So, no need to worry about losing your trusty canine companion for good in the wasteland.
