Of course! Preston Garvey can be assigned to different tasks around your settlements like any other settler. You can have him manning a guard post, tending crops, or even running a store if you dress him up for the job. Just walk up to him in workshop mode, and you'll get the option to assign him, same as you would with anyone else. The Minutemen's very own poster boy is more than just a quest-giver, after all!

Nah, Garvey is too busy being the General's personal quest dispenser. Why would he have time to pick melons? Just kidding, you can totally assign him to tasks in your settlements. It's pretty fun to see him doing something other than getting you to help another settlement.

Actually, it's a bit of a power move to make the leader of the Minutemen tend to your crops. But yes, you can assign Garvey tasks just like any settler. Gives a whole new meaning to leading by example!
