Sorry, but you can't alter the scanner room's design. Just stick some upgrades in it, and it鈥檒l feel brand new.
You can only upgrade it with modules. Trust me, a few range and speed upgrades make it a whole new beast!
You can't directly change or customize the scanner room itself, but you can upgrade it with various HUD chip, range, and speed modules to improve its functionality!
I've beefed up my scanner room with all the upgrades and it works like a charm, no need to change a thing!
