Nope, you can't directly access the 1989 level unless you finish the game first. Good ol' Tetris Effect making you work for it!

Yep! You can unlock the 1989 level in Tetris Effect by completing the game on normal difficulty or higher. Good luck!

I unlocked it last week! Just play through Journey Mode on Normal or higher, and it's yours. Totally worth it for those retro vibes.
