Nah, you can't have Shaun as a companion. The story of Fallout 4 has him playing a pretty specific role that doesn’t include tagging along as your buddy. You'll meet plenty of other interesting characters to adventure with, though!

I wish! But sadly, no. Shaun's role in Fallout 4 is central to the plot, and he doesn't become a companion. Would've been cool, though, having a family reunion while battling the wasteland.
