Unfortunately, nope. In Fallout 4, you can't officially join the Gunners. They're always gonna be the shoot-on-sight kind of folks. You can dress up in their gear and pretend, though. Just don't expect them to stop shooting at you.

Big sad, but no. The Gunners remain one of those 'admire from afar' groups 'cause they aren't in the business of making friends. Would've been cool, though!
