Nope, if you wanna visit islands far away and not just your buddy sitting next to you, you're gonna need Nintendo Online. Local multiplayer's all you got without it.

Absolutely! I do local play sessions with my friends all the time. We just sync up our Switch consoles, and it's like we're all in the same virtual village hanging out. No Nintendo Online needed for that. It's super fun and a great way to spend an afternoon together!

Yep, you can hang out with your pals in Animal Crossing without Nintendo Online, but it's gotta be local play only. So, make sure your friend's right there on the couch next to you with their own Switch. No internet play without a subscription, though.

If you're an Animal Crossing player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Nintendo eShop gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
