From personal experience, I've found that archiving, instead of deleting, makes it a lot easier to find old conversations. Just a tip for the future!
Unfortunately, once you delete a message on Facebook, it's gone for good. Consider archiving next time instead of deleting!
If you haven't actually deleted the messages but just archived them, you might find them in your archived messages folder.
