Nope, you can't use a PS3 controller on a PS2 directly. The PS2 doesn't support the USB connection natively.

If you get a compatible USB to PS2 adapter, it should work just fine. Keep in mind that not all adapters work perfectly, so check reviews before buying.

Yes, but you'll need an adapter to convert the USB connection of the PS3 controller to the PS2's controller port. These adapters are available online.
