Unfortunately, the PS4 doesn't support PS3 controllers out of the box. You might get lucky with third-party adapters, but the experience can be hit or miss.

I've tried it myself. You'd need something like the CronusMax Plus adapter to use a PS3 controller on a PS4, but I found it too finicky.
