I tried to use my T.J. Maxx card at a different store, and it didn't work! It's only good for T.J. Maxx and affiliated stores.

Nope, you can't use your T.J. Maxx credit card everywhere. It's just for T.J. Maxx and its sister stores like Marshalls and HomeGoods.
