Nope, you can't use a PlayStation Store gift card on PlayStation Direct. The gift cards are only for the PS Store.

Unfortunately, PlayStation Store gift cards can't be used on PlayStation Direct. You'll need to use other payment methods there.

First-hand experience here: I tried using a PS Store gift card on PlayStation Direct and no dice. Stick to the PS Store!
