Yes, you can use a PS4 controller on a PS5, but only for PS4 games. It won't work for PS5-exclusive titles.

Yep, just tried it the other day! Works fine for PS4 games, but for PS5 games, you'll need the new controller.

Totally, but keep in mind it's only for playing PS4 games through backward compatibility. For PS5 titles, you'll need the DualSense.
