Absolutely! Protection is like the Swiss Army knife of Magic mechanics. If a creature has protection from a color (let's say red), it can't be dealt damage, enchanted, equipped, blocked, or targeted by anything red, including creatures with menace. Menace requires a creature to be blocked by two or more creatures, but protection cleverly sidesteps this by not allowing the creature to be blocked by those it has protection from in the first place. So, if your protected creature is up against a red creature with menace, it can just waltz past them like they're not even there!

Short answer: Yes, it can. Protection lets a creature dodge menace since it can't be blocked by creatures it has protection from. Menace says two or more blockers are needed, but if none of those blockers can legally block because of protection, it's like having an all-access pass at a concert.

Nah, protection feels kinda overrated against menace. Just use removal spells instead. Way simpler.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
