Yes, but it depends on the model of PS3. The original fat PS3 (20GB, 60GB, and early 80GB models) has hardware-based backward compatibility with PS2 games. Later models, like the slim and super slim, don't support PS2 games natively.

I鈥檝e got the early 60GB PS3 and it plays PS2 games perfectly. Just make sure your model supports it before trying to dust off those old classics!

Some PS2 games are available via the PlayStation Store to play on PS3. So, if you're not sure about your console, check the store!

Nope, not all PS3s can play PS2 games. Only the OG fat ones do. Slim and super slim models? No dice.

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
