Nope, PS3 and PS4 players can't play GTA 5 online together. Different systems, different servers.

Sadly, cross-play between PS3 and PS4 for GTA 5 isn't a thing. You'll need friends on the same console generation to play together.

Speaking from experience, I tried to play GTA 5 online with my buddy on a PS4 while I was on a PS3. It just doesn't work. Different servers entirely.
