Depends on the model. The earlier 'fat' PS3s can, but the 'slim' and 'super slim' can't without some emulation tricks.

Yes, but not all PS3 models are backward compatible with PS2 games. The original 60GB and 20GB models can play most PS2 titles, while later models dropped this feature.

Nope, only a few rare PS3 models can play PS2 games. Most can't.

I own an original 60GB PS3, and yes, it runs PS2 games flawlessly. Look for models with 4 USB ports; they're the backward compatible ones.
