Can settlers use a safe in Fallout 4?
RavellingMane·7 months agoShort answer: Yes, but it’s not like they’re gonna neatly file their tax returns in there. Items stored can disappear because of the way the game handles NPC interactions with storage. So, maybe don’t put your Nuka-Cola collection in there.

Nah, settlers using your safes? Absolute myth. They can't technically 'use' them because the game doesn't give NPCs that level of detailed interaction. But don't expect your loot to be 100% safe. Other players have noticed items going missing, so it's probably smarter to keep your rarest gear on you or in a completely off-limits area.
Yep, settlers can interact with safes in your settlements, but they don't actually use them in the way you might hope. You can store items in a safe, but don't be surprised if those items magically disappear. Settlers have a knack for 'borrowing' items from storage, safes included. If you’re looking to keep your valuables secure, your best bet is tucking them away in containers settlers can't access, like those in areas they don’t frequent or behind locked doors!
