Technically, yes, the Steam Deck can output to a 4K display through its USB-C port when connected to a dock or directly with a proper cable. However, it's important to remember that because of its hardware, running games natively at 4K will be a huge demand on the system. Most games will likely need to run at lower settings to maintain playable frame rates at that resolution. So, while it can display 4K, gaming at 4K is another story!

The Steam Deck won't give you the 4K gaming experience you might be hoping for. It's just not built for that.

I've hooked mine up to a 4K monitor and, sure, it displays. But running games in 4K? More like a slideshow than smooth gameplay. Stick to its intended resolutions for the best experience.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
