Yep, Steam Deck can run EXE files, but there's a catch. It runs on SteamOS, which is based on Linux, so you'll need to use Proton, a compatibility layer that lets you run Windows games (and thus EXE files) on Linux. So, as long as you've got that set up, you're good to go!

Actually, the Steam Deck is more flexible than you might think. You can install Windows on it, and then, yes, it can run EXE files just like a traditional PC. So, it's technically yes, but with some extra steps involved.

tbh if you're just looking to run EXE files like it's a Windows laptop, you're kinda missing the point of the Steam Deck. It's a gaming machine first and foremost, made to leverage your Steam library, not to replace your desktop.

Nope, it's not as simple as on a regular PC. The Steam Deck uses SteamOS, Linux-based, so EXE files don't run natively. But, thanks to Proton, a tool integrated into the Steam client, you can play many Windows games. Just keep in mind, it's not perfect for every single EXE file out there.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
