Nope, when your PC goes into sleep mode, it's pretty much saying goodnight to all activities, including Steam downloads. Steam needs your PC to be awake to continue downloading games. Think of it like trying to talk to someone who's asleep; no response.

I leave my PC on with Steam downloads running all night. No issues in the morning and I get to wake up to new games to play. Just change your settings to keep the PC awake.

Actually, there's a workaround if you really wanna download games while catching some Z's yourself. Just adjust your PC's power settings to prevent it from sleeping automatically. This way, Steam can continue downloading even if you're not actively using the computer. But remember, this means your PC will be on all night, so maybe not the best for your electricity bill or the planet.

Steam downloads take a break when your PC sleeps. No power, no download. Simple as that.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
