I had the same issue! I cleared the cache for the app store and the update finally went through. Worth a try!
Double-check if your app store (Google Play or App Store) has any pending updates themselves. They might be blocking BitLife from updating.
First, make sure you have enough storage on your device. BitLife updates need space to stretch their virtual legs!
Just reinstall the game. You'll have to say goodbye to your current bit-life but it's an instant fix!
