Absolutely! In Magic The Gathering, you can totally respond to Transmute because it's an activated ability. Just like with any activated ability, your opponents get the chance to respond with instants or activated abilities of their own before the transmute ability resolves. Always good to have that counterspell or trick up your sleeve for moments like these!

FYI, tried responding to a Transmute last game night, and yep, my opponent just sat there waiting for my move. It's all about timing and knowing when to play your cards right鈥攍iterally.

Nah, you can't respond to the act of transmuting itself because it's not a spell鈥攊t's an ability. But you can definitely react to whatever comes after or any spells your opponent tries to cast post-transmute.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
