Nope, you can't be friends with the Gunners in Fallout 4. They're one of the major hostile factions that shoot first and never bother to ask questions. You can fight them, loot them, but sadly, no tea parties with the Gunners.

Sadly, no. The Gunners are always in the mood for a fight, not a chat. They see you, they shoot. Makes for a straightforward relationship, but not a friendly one.
