Actually, casting Silence before your opponent's untap step is a strategy I wish worked, but sadly, it doesn't. You can only cast it during their upkeep, right after untap, to effectively skip their main phase actions. Timing is key!

Silence timing is everything; cast it during upkeep, not before untap. There's no window to play spells before players untap their cards.

Why bother casting Silence when you can't do it before untap? Just hit them with a counterspell when they cast something big, way more satisfying.

Nope, you can't cast Silence before the untap step. MTG rules say no one gets priority to cast spells or activate abilities until after the untap step has finished and we've moved into the upkeep step. So, you gotta wait until the upkeep to silence your opponent!

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
