Nope, can't just go into a menu and pick a new skin tone like in later games. Gotta get that virtual tan if you want to change in New Leaf.

If you're looking to customize your character right out of the gate with different skin tones, New Leaf might leave you a bit disappointed. Thankfully, New Horizons stepped up the game with that option from the start!

Actually, in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, you can't directly change your character's skin color like you can in New Horizons. The way to change skin tone in New Leaf is a bit roundabout - you need to tan! Just spend time on the tropical island or out in the sun in your village during summer months. Be careful though, too much sun and you might just overdo it!

If you're an Animal Crossing player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Nintendo eShop gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
