You're stuck with your Steam username forever, it's the one thing that stays consistent. However, you totally can change your display name, which is what everyone sees. So, if you chose a username like 'xX_LordofNoobs_Xx' back in the day, at least you can hide it with something cooler now!
Can't change it, end of story. Choose wisely.
