I tried this myself, and while the PS5 controller looks cool, it just won't work natively with the PS4. Remote Play could be your workaround if you really want to use it.

Unfortunately, you can't connect a PS5 DualSense controller directly to a PS4. But you can use it on a PS4 via Remote Play on a PC or mobile device!

Nope, PS5 controllers are not compatible with the PS4. Stick to using DualShock 4 for that!
