As a proud owner of a Steam Deck, I tried to do just this. Found out you can't directly connect it to a laptop to use the laptop's screen. BUT, you can stream your Steam Deck games to your laptop using Steam Remote Play. Works like a charm for me!

Nope, you can't just plug in a Steam Deck to a laptop and expect it to work like a console or an external hard drive. They're like two peas in separate pods; they do their own thing.

Technically, you can't connect a Steam Deck directly to a laptop to use the laptop as a monitor or for direct file transfers via a simple cable connection. The Steam Deck is designed to work as a standalone portable gaming PC, not as an external device for another computer. However, you can use remote play or streaming applications to stream games from your Steam Deck to your laptop, which requires both devices to be connected to the same network.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
