Nope, you can't counter an emblem in Magic The Gathering. Once an emblem is created, it's part of the game and there's no direct way to remove it. Emblems aren't spells or permanents, so they dodge your usual counterspell or destruction magic. Your best bet is to prevent your opponent from getting that emblem in the first place by countering the planeswalker ability that creates it, or by making sure that planeswalker never hits the board.

Short answer: No. Emblems are indestructible because they're not actually 'on the battlefield'. They sit in the command zone where typical game actions can't touch them. So, once an emblem is out, you're dealing with it (or not dealing with it, as the case may be) for the rest of the game.

Actually, while you technically can't 'counter' an emblem itself, you can kinda sidestep its effects with specific strategies or cards designed to undermine what the emblem does. But yeah, direct countering or removal? Not happening.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
