Yep, you can totally discard cards in Magic The Gathering, but it's usually not just 'cause you feel like it. Discarding is often a result of specific card effects or rules. So, if a card or an opponent's move tells you to discard, you gotta do it. Just tossing cards because you don't like 'em isn't part of the game's rules.

Short answer: Yes, but only when you're told to by a card or game mechanics. You can't just throw cards away willy-nilly!

Actually, discarding can be a strategy in some decks. There are cards and combos that benefit from having certain cards in your graveyard. So, while you do discard when the game or a card says so, sometimes you'll actually want to because it plays into your larger game plan.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
