Yep, you can get 'arrested' in GTA 5 but you don't actually spend time inside a prison as part of the gameplay. After getting busted, the game just shows a brief cutscene of your character getting released from the police station, minus some cash and weapons.

Nope, no real prison time. You get arrested, screen fades, and boom, you're out again. Wish there was a mini-game for breaking out though!
