Actually, there are some unofficial mods that attempt to add multiplayer elements to Fallout 4. They're not supported by Bethesda and can be a bit funky to install and play, but for some, it's worth the hassle for a bit of co-op wasteland wandering.

No multiplayer, end of story. Fallout 4 is a solo journey, period.
Sorry to burst the bubble but nope, you can't officially make Fallout 4 multiplayer. It's designed as a single-player experience through and through. But hey, the vast wasteland and the rich storyline kinda make up for the lack of multiplayer chaos.
I tried one of those multiplayer mods with my buddy. It was... an adventure, to say the least. Not exactly seamless, but laughing at the bugs together was part of the fun.
