Just one island, but honestly, it's all you need. Each island has so much potential, and with updates and seasonal changes, it feels new all the time. Plus, decorating and terraforming can completely transform it without needing a second one.
Only one island allowed, and it's a bummer. Kinda wish Nintendo would let us have at least two.
