I tried this myself: PS4 controller works great for PS4 titles on my PS5, but for PS5 games, it’s a no-go. Gotta use the DualSense.

You can use a PS4 controller on a PS5, but only for PS4 games. For PS5 games, you'll need the DualSense controller.
