Short answer, no. New Leaf is a 3DS game and DS Lite isn't compatible with 3DS games. Totally different systems!

Nah, Animal Crossing: New Leaf is for the Nintendo 3DS only. The DS Lite can't run 3DS games because of the different tech and 3D capabilities. Gotta upgrade to experience the villager life in New Leaf!

Tried it, didn't work. DS Lite can't play any 3DS games including Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Had to borrow my cousin's 3DS to play it.
